Airport Design Manager

About the role

The Airport Design Manager will lead all design activities for a major airport project under the Project Management Consultant (PMC). You will ensure that multidisciplinary designs are coordinated, compliant with international and Saudi regulations, and delivered on schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage design processes across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and special airport systems.
• Develop and implement design management plans, schedules, and tracking mechanisms.
• Coordinate with design consultants to secure timely submission and approval of design documents.
• Review and validate deliverables for compliance with IATA ADRM, GACA 139, IBC, Saudi Codes, NFPA, and other standards.
• Identify and resolve design risks, clashes, and inconsistencies.
• Manage design changes, documentation, and approval workflows.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, operators, and contractors for design approvals.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency and constructability.
• Lead design coordination meetings and provide technical direction to the project team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience on airport/aviation projects, including space utilization and concept design.
• Strong knowledge of airport landside and passenger terminal operations.
• Proven stakeholder management and consultation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
