Chief Accountant

About the role

FAENA The Red Sea is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead daily accounting operations for its flagship hotel in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and provides insights that support both operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and account reconciliations.
• Supervise the accounting team and support their professional development.
• Reconcile bank and balance‑sheet accounts regularly.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and local regulations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor cash flow, operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
• Review payroll accounting entries and related reconciliations.
• Maintain tax compliance and assist with statutory filings.
• Maintain effective internal controls and safeguard assets.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, government authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Provide financial analysis and insights for management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and IFRS standards.
• Experience with accounting and ERP systems.
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
