Chief Accountant

About the role

FAENA The Red Sea is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the hotel’s accounting operations. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and provide insights that support both operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, and cash management.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports and reconciliations.
• Supervise the accounting team and support their development.
• Reconcile bank and balance‑sheet accounts regularly.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies and local regulations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
• Review payroll accounting entries and tax compliance.
• Maintain effective internal controls and safeguard assets.
• Liaise with banks, auditors and government authorities as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar role in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and IFRS standards.
• Experience with accounting and ERP systems.
• Good understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
