Freelance Senior Lead IVI Audio Engineer – Android & QNX

About the role

We are seeking a Freelance Senior/Lead IVI Audio Engineer to join our team for a 3‑month urgent assignment. The role combines remote work with occasional travel to Saudi Arabia to support the optimization of our In‑Vehicle Infotainment audio architecture on Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the existing IVI audio architecture across Android and QNX layers and identify bottlenecks.
• Enhance audio performance, routing, latency, stability and scalability.
• Work on Android Automotive audio framework components such as Audio Policy, AudioFlinger, Audio HAL, Car Audio Service, audio zones and volume groups.
• Support QNX‑based audio framework, middleware, device drivers and real‑time audio behavior.
• Debug routing, volume, latency, focus, mute, ducking and synchronization issues on both stacks.
• Challenge suppliers on architecture, quality and optimization, reviewing proposals and technical logs.
• Coordinate with OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers, platform, validation and system engineering teams.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with IVI audio systems and automotive infotainment platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Android Automotive audio stack.
• Good understanding of QNX audio architecture and real‑time embedded audio.
• Experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon automotive platforms.
