GIS I&C Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a motivated GIS I&C Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning and fault elimination of high‑voltage switching systems worldwide. You will act as the technical representative of PGHV on‑site, ensuring projects meet schedule, cost‑performance and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Independently carry out installation and maintenance of GIS equipment.
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements, safety guidelines and live‑system procedures.
• Produce and update red‑mark drawings reflecting on‑site modifications.
• Coordinate workforce planning with sub‑supplier superintendents to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with the PG Project Manager on status reporting of completed and pending work.
• Inspect incoming material for completeness and damage; manage material handling with sub‑suppliers.
• Issue non‑conformance reports for missing or damaged equipment.
• Supervise final installation, commissioning tests and completion documentation.
• Lead loop‑check activities and participate in site meetings as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience with GIS systems.
• Experience with SF6 gas handling and PGHV transmission/sub‑transmission GIS preferred.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
