Senior Resident Engineer – Site Supervision

About the role

The Senior Resident Engineer will lead Hill International’s multidisciplinary site supervision team, ensuring that all project activities meet contractual, quality, health, safety and client expectations. This senior position requires close coordination with the client, design manager and other stakeholders to drive project performance and mitigate risks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for multidisciplinary project supervision, defining roles, priorities and delivery schedules.
• Monitor project progress, KPIs, risks, variations and claims, delivering technical and contractual advice.
• Coordinate with the Design Manager to ensure design compliance and minimise cost and time impacts.
• Prepare and review special reports, technical solutions and non‑compliance comments for the client.
• Lead the assessment of variations and claims, advising the client on cost or schedule impacts.
• Attend executive and progress meetings, ensuring clear communication with client representatives.

Required profile

• A degree in Civil Engineering (post‑graduate education desired).
• Professional certification such as CEng or PMP highly desired.
• At least 20 years of experience on multi‑million‑dollar international construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience with FIDIC Yellow Book and/or Red Book contracts.

Required skills

• Civil engineering expertise, including shallow and deep utilities design & construction and road works.
• Proficiency with FIDIC Yellow Book and Red Book contract administration.
• Project management certifications (PMP) and professional engineering registration (CEng).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
• Strong ability to identify hazards, risks and develop mitigation plans.
