Workplace Health & Safety Officer

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to partner with the Site Operations team. You will drive safety compliance, lead continuous‑improvement projects, and create a safe environment for all associates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with Amazon WHS standards and local regulations.
• Measure site safety performance, identify deficiencies and develop corrective plans.
• Deliver safety projects on time and with quality, using lean principles and kaizen methods.
• Analyze safety metrics, review incident trends and allocate resources to high‑risk areas.
• Conduct thorough incident investigations and ensure closure of corrective actions.
• Perform regular site safety audits, identify non‑compliant equipment or processes, and implement risk‑elimination solutions.
• Audit record‑keeping, workplace organization, and associate behaviours to ensure consistency with global WHS standards.
• Lead, mentor and train safety associates and site leaders on WHS policies and procedures.
• Maintain PPE inventory and coordinate with procurement to meet safety requirements.

Required profile

• Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
• Ability to build trust with Operations teams and inspire safety‑first culture.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days and nights.
• Thorough understanding of local/regional safety regulations and Amazon policies.
• Team player who reports to the site WHS manager and collaborates across functions.
