Application Monitoring Team (NOC) Specialist

About the role

The Application Monitoring Team (NOC) Specialist is responsible for continuously monitoring application performance, detecting incidents, and ensuring the stability of critical services. The role works closely with development, operations, and support teams to optimise system reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor application performance metrics such as response time, throughput and error rate.
• Analyse performance bottlenecks and provide actionable insights for optimisation.
• Collect, manage and analyse application logs to maintain operational stability.
• Configure and maintain alerting mechanisms and health‑check systems.
• Log incidents promptly in the incident management system and communicate them according to the escalation matrix.
• Collaborate with development and IT operations teams to ensure application health.
• Offer proactive recommendations to improve system performance and reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in application monitoring, IT operations or a similar role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure during critical incidents.
• Excellent prioritisation and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools and platforms (APM suites, log management tools).
• Knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics and New Relic.
• Ability to interpret performance metrics like response time, throughput and error rates.
• Familiarity with configuring alerting mechanisms and health‑check processes.
• Understanding of core IT concepts: networking, operating systems and databases.
