Backend & Integrations Engineer

About the role

Eddekhar is a Saudi fintech building infrastructure for employee savings, investments and payroll‑connected benefits. As a Backend & Integrations Engineer you will design, develop and maintain the core backend services and enterprise integrations that power the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs and micro‑services.
• Develop and support integrations with HR systems, payroll providers, banks and third‑party platforms.
• Own integration workflows end‑to‑end, from API analysis and implementation to debugging and monitoring.
• Work with REST APIs, OAuth 2.0 flows, webhooks, background jobs, queues and distributed systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot integration failures, infrastructure issues and production incidents.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA and stakeholders to deliver reliable features.
• Improve backend architecture, integration reliability, system performance and engineering standards.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute clean, maintainable, well‑tested code.

• Strong communicator able to work across technical and operational teams.

Required skills

• PHP with Laravel framework.
• Node.js.
• Designing and consuming REST APIs, including versioning, error handling and security.
• OAuth 2.0 implementation and secure authorization.
• SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases.
• Message brokers such as RabbitMQ, queue design and reliable delivery.
• Software design patterns and layered architectures (e.g., Repository‑Service).
• Experience with microservice‑based systems.
