CAD Operator

About the role

AECOM is looking for a detail-oriented and organized CAD Operator to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves creating and modifying technical drawings and designs using industry-standard CAD software, working closely with engineers, architects and project managers to turn concepts into precise digital models and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify and optimise 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings based on project specifications
• Interpret design briefs, sketches and technical documentation to produce accurate digital representations
• Organise and maintain CAD files with proper naming conventions, version control and project documentation
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to refine drawings and resolve technical issues
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, codes and company specifications
• Prepare detailed technical drawings for production, construction or manufacturing
• Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness and adherence to project requirements
• Assist in developing design standards and CAD templates, and communicate project status and revisions with the team
• Troubleshoot CAD software issues and optimise its performance

Required profile

• 10 years of professional CAD operation experience (preferred)
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, engineering or architecture (preferred)
• Familiarity with project management tools and knowledge of industry standards and drawing protocols (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong organisational and communication skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit or SolidWorks
• Demonstrated experience creating and editing 2D and 3D technical drawings and models
• Understanding of technical drawing conventions, symbols and industry standards
