Commissioning Engineer – 3000W Generators

About the role

As a Commissioning Engineer you will ensure the optimal performance of high‑power generators by conducting inspections, tests and data analysis on critical components. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues, maintain auxiliary systems and support the reliability of low‑emission power generation projects across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of stator and rotor components, including windings, cooler systems, HV bushings, slip rings and bearing assemblies.
• Execute a range of electrical tests (IR, PI, WR, HV, thermocouple IR, robotic inspections, pole balance, bearing insulation assessments).
• Collect and analyse data from Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to produce Fact‑Finding reports.
• Support generator auxiliary systems such as seal oil and water‑cooled or hydrogen‑cooled cooling loops.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and project teams to improve efficiency and reliability of energy systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrotechnical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑4 years of hands‑on experience with electrical generators and auxiliary systems.
• Strong technical reporting skills and ability to communicate complex data in English.
• Willingness to travel across KSA and the Middle East and work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Water‑cooled generators (3000W) and hydrogen‑cooled generators (2000H) knowledge.
• Generator auxiliary systems, especially seal oil systems.
• Stat​or and rotor system inspection techniques.
• Distributed Control Systems (DCS) data extraction.
• IR/PI/WR/HV testing, thermocouple IR, robotic inspections.
• Rotoscoping inspection techniques.
