Construction Engineer – Large‑Scale Development Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to support a prestigious large‑scale development project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves supervising construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, schedules and health‑safety requirements, and collaborating closely with the Resident Engineer, Construction Manager and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor construction works to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
• Coordinate daily site activities among contractors, subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Review construction methodologies, method statements, shop drawings and material submittals for compliance.
• Monitor project progress against schedules, identify risks or delays and propose corrective actions.
• Conduct regular site inspections, witness testing and commissioning, and verify quality of materials and workmanship.
• Manage RFIs, site queries and technical clarifications, and ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.
• Monitor contractor performance, productivity and resource allocation, and support variation and non‑conformance management.
• Participate in coordination, technical and progress meetings and contribute to project close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in construction and site supervision, including at least 5 years as a Construction Engineer on major building projects.
• Proven experience with large‑scale buildings, hotels, resorts or mixed‑use developments, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, international building codes and engineering best practices.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submissions and method statements, and familiarity with QA/QC procedures.
• Excellent communication, report‑writing and stakeholder‑management skills, with fluency in English.
