Construction Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure

About the role

The Construction Engineer will supervise and monitor daily construction activities on site, focusing on roads and related infrastructure works. The role ensures that all works are executed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and the project schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise road works including earthworks, grading, sub‑grade, base course, asphalt paving, curbs and sidewalks.
• Oversee infrastructure works such as storm‑water drainage, sewerage, potable‑water, irrigation networks, utilities and underground services.
• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility teams and other disciplines to avoid conflicts.
• Monitor progress against schedule, report delays, deficiencies and risks.
• Handle RFIs, inspection requests, NCRs and other site technical matters.
• Conduct regular site inspections, ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, inspections and handover activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant construction experience.
• Strong practical experience in road and infrastructure works.
• Proven experience with utilities, drainage networks and underground infrastructure.
• Experience on large‑scale residential, mixed‑use or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Previous work with a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) is a plus.
