Cost Control Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cost Control Manager to lead the costing function for a food manufacturing operation that produces bakery, pastry, sweets and related FMCG products. The role will ensure accurate product costing, monitor production expenses and drive margin‑improving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost control and product‑costing activities across the factory.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, packaging and overhead.
• Calculate product costs using recipes, BOMs, yields and routing data.
• Monitor actual production costs versus standards and budgets, analysing variances.
• Review food costs, wastage, spoilage and consumption patterns.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and allocation of direct/indirect manufacturing costs.
• Analyse profitability by product, category, customer and channel.
• Support pricing decisions with cost and margin analysis.
• Partner with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehouse, Sales and Finance teams.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, forecasts and management presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (CMA, CPA, ACCA, SOCPA) is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or cost control, preferably in food, bakery, pastry, confectionery or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOM costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to communicate financial insights to operational and senior management.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo or similar).
