Cyber Defense Officer

About the role

The Cyber Defense Officer will design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions for all end‑users, ensuring compliance with CARE policies and procedures. This role focuses on protecting the organization against malicious code, network attacks, and emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Implement detection, prevention, and recovery controls to safeguard against malicious and mobile code.
• Configure and install firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments.
• Assist investigations to determine the cause of security breaches.
• Maintain virus protection arrangements and technical vulnerability management.
• Support technical audit and review exercises.
• Conduct scheduled vulnerability scans and produce detailed remediation reports.
• Monitor SIEM logs, apply updates, and respond to cybersecurity incidents following SOC procedures.
• Keep threat and vulnerability databases current and measure effectiveness of security controls.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (0‑3 years experience) or Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CCIE Security, CCNP R&S, CISSP, CISA or CISM are preferred.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
