Director of Advancement

About the role

The Director of Advancement leads the museum’s fundraising strategy, building lasting relationships with donors, foundations, corporate sponsors and public funding bodies. This senior position shapes the financial future of the museum and ensures its long‑term impact and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives aligned with museum goals.
• Design integrated engagement programs in collaboration with curatorial, education and marketing teams.
• Manage budgeting, financial accountability and ROI tracking for advancement activities.
• Implement donor stewardship best practices and maintain data integrity in donor management systems.
• Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to enhance donor engagement.
• Analyze and report on fundraising outcomes, using data to refine future strategies.
• Cultivate partnerships with local organisations, businesses and community leaders.
• Serve as the museum’s ambassador at public events and stakeholder forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising and advancement, preferably at a senior level.
• Strong diplomatic and communication skills with the ability to articulate compelling cases for support.
• Deep understanding of Saudi Arabia’s philanthropic, institutional and corporate landscape.
• Ability to collaborate across museum departments and lead cross‑functional initiatives.
• Commitment to ethical fundraising practices, transparency and donor stewardship.
