Director of Rooms – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the strategic direction of the hotel's Rooms department, ensuring that service standards, revenue targets, and financial performance align with the brand’s vision. Reporting to senior hotel management, this role oversees all aspects of rooms operations, from guest experience to profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Rooms team, communicating clear departmental goals and driving execution.
• Develop and implement operational strategies that support the brand’s business objectives.
• Monitor room rates, specials, and promotions to maximize occupancy and revenue.
• Analyze service issues, identify trends, and adjust processes to improve performance.
• Review financial statements, audit expenses, and manage controllable costs.
• Coach and support staff to manage occupancy, rates, wages, and other budgeted items.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by reviewing guest feedback and implementing corrective actions.

Required profile

• Either a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a 4‑year bachelor’s degree in the same fields with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales & marketing, or management operations within a hotel environment.
