Electrical Technician – HV/MV Maintenance

About the role

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining, installing, overhauling and modifying electrical machinery and equipment in an industrial plant. The focus is on high‑voltage and medium‑voltage systems, generators, transformers and protection equipment to ensure reliability and compliance with HSE and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily and preventive electrical maintenance according to schedule and procedures.
• Monitor equipment condition, report anomalies and respond to electrical failures to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults in circuits, wiring, motors, transformers, relays and control devices.
• Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Align, adjust and calibrate equipment as required and keep detailed maintenance records.
• Monitor spare‑parts inventory and report stock levels to support maintenance activities.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and adhere to all HSE, quality and ISO procedures.

Required profile

• Technical Certificate or Associate Diploma in Electrical Maintenance.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on electrical maintenance experience in a plant or industrial environment.
• Proven experience with electrical generators, excitation systems, HV/MV systems, high‑voltage motors, transformers and protection systems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for electrical faults.
• Awareness of health, safety, environment and quality standards; ISO knowledge is a plus.
