Engineering Manager – MLOps & Analytics

About the role

Canonical is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its MLOps and Analytics team. You will combine strong technical expertise with people‑management skills to keep the team focused, productive and continuously improving.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a distributed team of engineers delivering MLOps and analytics solutions.
• Define and maintain engineering processes, road‑maps and health metrics.
• Conduct regular one‑on‑ones, code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects and other engineering managers to align on strategy.
• Represent Canonical at conferences and within the open‑source MLOps community.
• Travel globally 2‑4 weeks per year for internal and external events.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering software projects at scale.
• Strong Python development experience, preferably with open‑source contributions.
• Deep understanding of the machine‑learning ecosystem and its operational challenges.
• Experience designing, implementing and scaling MLOps solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and foster a high‑performing team culture.
