Logistics Specialist 1 – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to oversee daily logistics operations for a 12‑month period at our King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Science Park location. The role involves managing inbound and outbound shipments, vendor relationships, and special cargo projects while ensuring compliance with customs regulations and Incoterms.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily logistics activities, track shipments, and take ownership of operational outcomes.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring adherence to Incoterms and customs requirements.
• Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, rates, and service agreements.
• Manage air, sea, and land transportation operations, including special cargo such as out‑of‑gauge or high‑value items.
• Plan and execute transportation for complex shipments, performing risk assessments and contingency planning.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and streamline logistics processes for speed, accuracy, and visibility.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as transit time, on‑time delivery, and freight spend, and provide regular performance reports.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in freight forwarding and logistics.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred background in the oil & gas industry.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, teamwork, and independent work capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle logistics modules.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence in Microsoft PowerPoint for reporting.
