Mechanical Inspector – QC/ Vendor Inspection (QM-07)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced QC Mechanical / Vendor Inspector (QM‑07 approved) to join our Third‑Party Inspection team in Dammam. The role involves independent vendor surveillance, shop inspections and testing of mechanical commodities, focusing on valves, pressure vessels and piping components in line with Saudi Aramco standards.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Techline International as a Third‑Party Inspector at vendor manufacturing and fabrication facilities across the region.
• Perform shop inspections, material verification, dimensional checks, wall‑thickness and flange‑facing inspections for valves (QM‑07) and other mechanical items.
• Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic and operational cycle tests according to API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34 and Aramco SAMSS specifications.
• Review Mill Test Certificates, verify Positive Material Identification results and ensure heat‑number traceability.
• Approve welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WQR) and evaluate NDT activities (VT, PT, MT, RTFI, UT).
• Attend Pre‑Inspection Meetings, issue Non‑Conformance Reports and track corrective actions through to resolution.
• Review Manufacturer Data Reports and issue Inspection Release Certificates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of TPI/QC experience (or Diploma with 5‑6 years experience).
• Valid Saudi Aramco QM‑07 approval; additional QM approvals (e.g., QM‑03, QM‑05, QM‑11) are highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS CWI, ASNT Level II in VT/PT/MT/RTFI (UT a plus), and API 510/570/598 awareness.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards (SAMSS, SA‑175) and international codes (API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3).
• Experience with valve, pressure vessel and piping component inspection, including hydrostatic/pneumatic testing and PMI.
• Proficiency in reviewing welding procedures, NDT techniques and Mill Test Certificates.
• Strong technical reporting and communication in English.
