Oncology Nurse

About the role

The Oncology Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, adhering to established standards and evidence‑based practices. The role includes leadership responsibilities, acting as a shift resource or team leader, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provides total patient care as assigned according to core standards and evidence‑based practices.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, including discharge planning for each patient.
• Collaborates with case management to reduce length of stay and meet unit goals.
• Documents all relevant information accurately and timely.
• Reports equipment failures, safety issues and supply shortages to the Head Nurse.
• Acts as patient and family advocate, identifying improvement ideas and safety risks.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and mentors new staff or nursing students.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing.
• Two years of oncology/chemotherapy nursing experience with a BSN (or four years with an associate degree).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
