About the role
The position involves delivering comprehensive eye care services within a hospital setting. The Optometrist will perform examinations, refractions, and manage a wide range of contact lens needs for diverse patient cases.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct optometry examinations, refraction, and fitting of soft and hard contact lenses for conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, aphakia, keratoconus and post‑surgical cases.
- Manage contact lens supplies, equipment, and solutions, ensuring compliance with hospital regulations.
- Perform low‑vision evaluations and supervise pediatric aphakic and rigid contact lens programs.
- Participate in training of subordinate staff and residents, and provide performance feedback for technicians/assistants.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Optometry or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Saudi Ministry of Health license.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience.
Required skills
- Refraction and vision testing.
- Contact lens fitting (soft and hard) and management.
- Low‑vision evaluation.
- Pediatric aphakic and rigid lens handling.
