Patient Care Technician

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential support to nursing staff and acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families. Working in a clinical setting, the PCT ensures smooth patient flow, prepares equipment, and assists with basic medical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clinic readiness, cleanliness, and supply levels on a daily basis.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and set up required equipment before procedures.
• Organize patient flow, track status, and coordinate lab, radiology, and other investigations.
• Process admissions, referrals, and documentation accurately and timely.
• Answer telephone calls courteously, relay messages, and respond to visitor inquiries.
• Adhere to JCIA/CBAHI patient safety standards, infection control, and documentation policies.
• Perform nursing‑level tasks within scope: vital signs, pulse oximetry, weight/height, glucose checks, ECG, and pain assessments.
• Provide patient and family education, maintain privacy, and initiate emergency measures when needed.
• Report observations to supervisors and participate in person‑centered care initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• Successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program.
• Preferably some healthcare experience; fresh graduates with interest are also considered.
• Valid Saudi Council license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
• Valid Saudi Council professional license.
• Operation of ECG equipment.
• Monitoring vital signs and pulse oximetry.
• Conducting glucose checks and basic patient assessments.
