About the role
The Pharmacovigilance Specialist supports the Affiliate Safety Representative and Regional Pharmacovigilance Lead in Saudi Arabia. Acting as the back‑up National Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV) Deputy, the incumbent ensures continuous readiness to maintain patient‑safety responsibilities and to liaise with the Saudi health authority.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the single local pharmacovigilance contact point for the Saudi health authority on a 24‑hour basis and during inspections.
- Maintain and oversee the local pharmacovigilance quality system, procedures, databases, and training requirements.
- Provide prompt, complete responses to health‑authority requests and support regulatory actions arising from emerging safety concerns.
- Coordinate intake, processing, translation, medical assessment, and reconciliation of adverse event reports from all sources.
- Develop, implement and maintain local pharmacovigilance procedures in line with Saudi regulations and AbbVie corporate standards.
Required profile
- Saudi national with in‑depth knowledge of Saudi Good Pharmacovigilance Practice (GVP) requirements.
- Experience in pharmacovigilance activities, including adverse event reporting, safety data management, and regulatory compliance.
