Plant Accounting Analyst

About the role

The Plant Accounting Analyst will perform transactional accounting activities for manufacturing plants within the joint‑venture operations in Al‑Jubail. This role supports the preparation of financial statements, cost analysis, and inventory management to help predict future revenues and expenses.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process accounting transactions for all S‑Chem manufacturing plants, addressing material price, project and work‑order settlement variances.
• Provide general accounting support for monthly, quarterly and annual closings, ensuring inventory accuracy, cost classification, product cost build‑up and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly operating variances, coordinating with plant operations and maintenance teams to explain fluctuations against budget and market factors.
• Monitor inventory data, facilitate monthly physical counts and reconcile inventory records across production sites.
• Work with projects and maintenance teams to maintain accurate fixed‑asset listings, including additions, disposals, depreciation and capitalization.
• Review production and feedstock consumption data, perform variance analysis and ensure correct system entry.
• Manage open purchase orders and GRIR items, following up for timely closure.
• Contribute to the full‑cycle budgeting process by collecting data, analyzing variances and supporting management decisions.
• Assist with internal control reviews and audits to maintain compliance and minimize financial risk.
• Analyze product pricing and profitability, engaging with third‑party firms and participating in market surveys.
