POS & PSD Maintenance Technician

About the role

The POS & PSD Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on third‑rail and track systems, ensuring safety and compliance with established procedures. The role involves routine inspections, minor repairs, and technical cleaning while maintaining accurate records in the maintenance management system.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to approved plans and safety rules.
• Log all maintenance activities in the CMMS and produce accurate maintenance records.
• Carry out routine inspections, surface defect checks, consumable changes, and minor repairs on third‑rail and track infrastructure.
• Operate and calibrate On‑Track Machines (OTM) and other rail‑vehicle equipment.
• Drive automotive equipment to work sites and support shift or emergency duties as required.
• Collaborate with operations teams, signalers, line controllers and other stakeholders.
• Implement Permit to Work processes and manage safety‑critical communications.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Railway Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in railway or infrastructure maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety‑critical procedures, track possession protocols and rail‑vehicle operation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Experience operating On‑Track Machines (OTM) and performing calibrations.
• Knowledge of Permit to Work processes and safety‑critical communications.
• Ability to use certified tools, perform technical cleaning and conduct minor repairs.
• Driving automotive or rail‑based equipment for site access.
