Project Director – Major Capital Projects

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished Project Director to lead large‑scale capital projects in the Oil & Gas or process industries. The role involves steering multidisciplinary teams from project initiation through to successful completion while ensuring safety, quality, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for major projects from initiation through completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Manage project planning, execution, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, performance metrics, and contractual obligations.
• Participate in project development, technical bid evaluations, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Drive compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor, develop, and lead high‑performing teams while ensuring accountability for deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline (Professional Engineering registration preferred).
• 25+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or Process Industries.
• Proven track record managing mega projects and large multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
• Middle East experience is essential; Saudi Arabia experience is highly desirable.
