About the role
Design, review, and verify protection settings and logic for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) infrastructure, ensuring reliable operation of substations, transformers, and inverters.
Key responsibilities
- Design, review, and verify protection settings and logic for BESS infrastructure, including substations, transformers, and inverters.
- Perform calculations, coordination studies, and fault analysis for High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) protection systems.
- Oversee testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning of protection relays (e.g., SECO, Siemens, ABB, Schneider).
- Troubleshoot complex protection system issues, investigate trippings, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all engineering activities strictly comply with GCC standards, SEC regulations, and project safety guidelines.
- Coordinate effectively with site operations, sub‑contractors, and grid authorities during the integration phase.
Required skills
- Protection relay configuration (SECO, Siemens, ABB, Schneider)
- Fault analysis and coordination studies for HV/MV/LV systems
