QA/QC Civil Engineer – Construction Quality Assurance

About the role

The QA/QC Civil Engineer will oversee civil construction activities, ensuring that all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role involves site inspections, coordination with consultants and subcontractors, and follow‑up on corrective actions until issues are fully resolved.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect civil works such as reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, backfilling and finishing.
• Raise and manage Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR) and Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR) with consultants.
• Verify implementation of Method Statements, ITPs, checklists and Quality Control Plans.
• Supervise concrete pouring processes, including pre‑pour checks, delivery, slump, temperature, sampling, curing and post‑pour inspection.
• Control material compliance against approved submittals and technical requirements.
• Identify defects, conduct root‑cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports and test documentation.
• Collaborate with site, technical, survey, laboratory and consultant teams to resolve quality issues.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and quality control procedures.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, formwork, concrete testing and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with waterproofing, masonry, plastering, tiling, screed, earthworks, backfilling and compaction.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC/shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Understanding of ITPs, WIR/MIR, NCRs, SORs and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ACI, ASTM and project‑specific specifications.
