Quantity Surveyor (Engineer)

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate measurement, billing and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly running account bills for clients and certificates of payment for subcontractors/vendors.
• Study Bill of Quantities (BOQ) against specifications and extract quantities from drawings.
• Validate contractor measurements, coordinate with site teams and process contractor bills within agreed timelines.
• Analyse rates for non‑BOQ items, reconcile estimated and billed quantities, and issue debit notes for rework or faulty work.
• Lead preparation of variation orders, evaluate claims and advise on contractual financial matters.
• Maintain expenditure records, prepare monthly financial statements and final accounts with supporting documentation.
• Audit payments and ensure completeness of valuations and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering.
• 5 to 8+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost engineering within construction projects.
• Strong understanding of BOQ preparation, measurement procedures and contract administration.
