Resident Structural Engineer

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Resident Structural Engineer to lead the civil and structural engineering activities for the Ar Rjum gold project in Saudi Arabia. The role involves field investigations, client interviews, cost estimating, and ensuring that all structural components meet the project’s complex requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of civil/structural engineering work, including preparation of designs, layouts, drawings and specifications for structures, roadways and related facilities.
• Design, develop, modify and evaluate civil/structural components using Bechtel standards, design control checklists and design review notices.
• Perform advanced structural analysis, including statics, dynamics and material engineering, and determine appropriate use of steel, concrete, wood or masonry.
• Generate and review complex structural deliverables such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications and material requisitions.
• Prepare procurement and subcontract documents, conduct technical bid evaluations and provide recommendations.
• Support project and construction management in identifying and complying with civil/structural requirements throughout execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (or international equivalent).
• 8‑10 years of relevant experience, or 12‑14 years of experience in a similar senior role.
• Proven ability to lead design and constructability reviews for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
