Robotics Engineer – Automation & AI

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking a Robotics Engineer to develop and implement advanced robotics solutions that support the energy transition and industrial digitalisation. The role involves integrating robotic platforms with Yokogawa systems, conducting feasibility studies, and delivering pilot trials for customers in sectors such as Oil & Gas and Utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement robotics solutions.
• Handle system integration and testing of robotic OEM platforms using SDKs with Yokogawa systems.
• Evaluate and integrate third‑party hardware and software into Yokogawa solutions.
• Explore new technologies, develop pilot trial methodologies and proposals aligned with customer requirements.
• Work with robotics OEMs to scope data integration, perform site trials, troubleshoot and improve autonomous platforms.
• Provide technical support to field operators and other stakeholders.
• Conduct feasibility studies and assess value‑add of robotics implementations for customers.
• Perform site surveys, risk assessments and create implementation plans for robotics solutions.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in robotics, IIoT and field inspection technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in field robotics implementation, inspections and integration using OEM SDKs.
• Experience delivering pilot trials with autonomous inspection robotics platforms.
• Project‑management experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
• Background in Oil & Gas and/or Utilities is preferred.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, C++ and MATLAB.
• Robotics simulation tools and environments such as ROS and ROS 2.
• SLAM algorithms.
• Git‑based version control workflows.
• AI development and integration using Python.
• Knowledge of industrial robotics hardware (e.g., ExRobotics, Boston Dynamics, ANYbotics, MHI, Taurob, Deep Robotics).
