Senior Highways Design Subject Matter Expert

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Highways Design Subject Matter Expert to act as the technical authority for highway and road infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. You will provide independent, senior‑level engineering expertise to ensure designs are robust, safe, constructible and aligned with program objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the client’s Highways Design SME and trusted advisor on design principles, standards and best practice.
• Develop, interpret and apply highway design criteria, typical sections, standard details and Basis of Design documents.
• Review and advise on design departures, exceptions and non‑standard solutions, identifying and managing associated risks.
• Conduct detailed technical reviews of deliverables from feasibility studies through Issued for Construction designs.
• Provide guidance on alignments, road hierarchy, junctions, interchanges, roundabouts, signage, pavement, drainage and road safety features.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian standards (CFP, SHC, MOT, MoMRA, SBC) and relevant international standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in highway and road design engineering.
• Proven ability to act as a technical authority and advisor on complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Saudi Arabian and international highway design standards.
