Senior Partner - Restructuring, Performance Improvement and Turnaround (RPT)
Roland Berger · Riyadh
Job description
About the role
Roland Berger is seeking a Senior Partner to lead and grow its Restructuring, Performance Improvement and Turnaround (RPT) practice in the Middle East. RPT is one of the firm's key business lines globally. The partner will drive rapid stabilization, liquidity protection and operational turnaround for corporates, SOEs, lenders and investors, while shaping the practice's strategy, offerings and sector focus.
Key responsibilities
- Originate and lead complex restructurings: business reviews, liquidity and cash control, options analysis, out-of-court workouts, contingency planning and formal processes.
- Advise boards, CFOs and creditor groups on capital structure solutions, debt renegotiations, stakeholder strategies and turnaround plans.
- Oversee execution of 100-day plans: working capital unlock, SG&A and opex reductions, footprint and portfolio actions and revenue recovery levers.
- Lead multi-stakeholder negotiations among lenders, bondholders, PE sponsors, SWFs and regulators, managing information flows and decision forums under tight timelines.
- Ensure quality across business plan reviews, financial modelling, liquidity forecasting, scenario planning and value-creation roadmaps.
- Build and mentor a team across restructuring, corporate finance and operations, and manage practice economics including pipeline, pricing, risk, realization and margin.
- Shape alliances with law firms, banks and special situations funds in KSA/UAE, and represent the firm with media and ecosystem partners.
- Liaise and collaborate with the global RPT practice.
Required profile
- 15-20+ years in restructuring/turnaround, corporate finance or special situations consulting, with leadership of large cross-border engagements in the GCC.
- Track record advising companies and creditors on complex operational restructuring and rapid performance improvement.
- Hands-on experience in business reviews, liquidity management, business plan development, valuation and scenario analysis, and contingency planning.
- Sector depth in priority Middle East industries (e.g. real estate, construction, industrials, energy transport, healthcare, consumer) and public/sovereign stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the Middle East.
Required skills
- Crisis leadership and decisive decision-making under ambiguity and time pressure.
- Financial and operational acumen: modelling oversight, liquidity forecasting, covenant analysis and operational turnaround levers.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with C-suite executives, commercial and investment banks, PE/SWFs and regulators.
- Inclusive people leadership, able to attract, develop and retain top transaction talent.
