Senior Regional Pre‑Construction Lead (GES)

About the role

The Senior Regional Pre‑Construction Lead (GES) drives the engineering design phase for large‑scale fulfillment, sort‑center and quick‑commerce projects across the AMET region. Managing an annual investment portfolio exceeding USD 1 billion, the role ensures projects progress from site selection to construction readiness while meeting timeline, quality and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all pre‑construction activities – site selection, evaluation, budgeting, concept, schematic and detailed design – in partnership with design, construction and real‑estate teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve design conflicts and implement process improvements throughout the pre‑construction phase.
• Make critical decisions on complex projects, applying sound judgment and escalating when necessary.
• Direct cross‑functional, multicultural teams to deliver project deliverables independently.
• Analyze local regulations and customer requirements to develop innovative, compliant solutions.
• Produce written communications for business partners and stakeholders, building influential relationships inside and outside Amazon.
• Troubleshoot issues and drive them to closure with minimal supervision.
• Travel up to 50 % across the AMET region to support site evaluations and project execution.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading pre‑construction or engineering design for large facilities (6k‑1 MM sq ft).
• Strong analytical and risk‑management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of guiding cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
