Senior Simulator Software Engineer (C/C++)

About the role

Join CAE Middle East as a Senior Simulator Software Engineer, supporting the new Riyadh Air training centre in Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing cutting‑edge flight‑training simulators, ensuring software configuration control, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to certification activities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact for complex software, hardware, and performance issues on flight‑simulator and cabin‑crew training devices, providing on‑site support and AOG dispatch.
• Manage software configuration control for all training devices and lead debugging, integration, testing and implementation of fixes.
• Participate in project reviews, system design assessments and support CAE‑MTL teams during installations and acceptance processes.
• Coordinate with customers, authorities and CAE Customer Service to ensure compliance with SLA and regulatory requirements, including EASA and FAA.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 7‑10 years of relevant experience in simulator software development.
• Strong planning, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions unsupervised.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot integrated systems and adapt quickly to evolving technologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++ and FORTRAN programming languages; scripting with Perl.
• Experience with Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio 6.0 or higher) on Windows platforms.
• Knowledge of CAE software suites such as CAELIB, STARTEAM, Strive framework, Visual Systems, SIM XXI, Simfinity, Launchpad and ITMS.
• Familiarity with simulated systems and avionics interfaces, including 7000 XR technology and flight aerodynamics.
• Understanding of configuration management processes and qualification test guides.
