Senior Traffic Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Transport & Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Traffic Subject Matter Expert to lead traffic engineering and management for a large‑scale transport infrastructure project in Riyadh. This senior leadership position oversees both construction‑phase and operational‑phase traffic solutions, ensuring safety, compliance, and minimal disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Review, approve, and supervise temporary and permanent traffic management plans and detour strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with local standards, project requirements, and international best practices.
• Coordinate with municipal authorities, contractors, and traffic enforcement for successful implementation.
• Monitor on‑site traffic control measures, mitigating risks and maintaining safety.
• Provide strategic guidance on traffic flow optimization, congestion reduction, and public access during construction.
• Develop incident response plans and maintain emergency access routes.
• Mentor junior staff and build project team capacity.
• Prepare and present technical reports, dashboards, and briefings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of traffic engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or SME role.
• Proven experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• Strong knowledge of KSA regulatory frameworks (MOT, Riyadh Municipality, Royal Commission).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic a plus.
