Site HSE Officer (Saudi Nationals)

About the role

The Site HSE Officer will ensure that all contractors and works on the project comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements. This position supports Assystem’s mission to accelerate the energy transition by safeguarding people and the environment on construction sites across Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE plans, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, daily walks, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Review contractor HSE documentation such as risk assessments, method statements, permit‑to‑work systems and emergency response plans.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near‑misses and unsafe conditions, and prepare investigation reports.
• Track corrective and preventive actions and verify their closure.
• Monitor high‑risk activities including work at height, lifting, excavation, confined space entry, hot work and electrical works.
• Ensure proper use and availability of PPE, maintain HSE records and statistics, and support emergency drills.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and client representatives on HSE matters and prepare weekly/monthly HSE reports for PMC management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of HSE experience, preferably in PMC, infrastructure, construction or engineering consultancy projects.
• Experience on infrastructure, utilities, roads, buildings or industrial projects is preferred.
• Mandatory NEBOSH IGC certification; IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
• First Aid, Fire Safety and OSHA certifications are advantageous.
