Software Engineer – Rack Management (Senior/Staff)

About the role

Qualcomm is expanding its data‑centre footprint in Saudi Arabia and is looking for Senior and Staff Software Engineers to develop and operate rack‑management software for AI accelerator products. The role is hands‑on, focusing on high‑quality implementation, debugging, testing and operational support of software that runs close to the hardware in large‑scale data‑centre environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and maintain software for rack provisioning, monitoring and workload deployment.
• Interface with rack hardware (BMC, PDU, CDU, PCIe switches) using Redfish, SNMP and IPMI protocols.
• Integrate rack‑management solutions with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Terraform and Foreman.
• Collaborate with ODMs, ISVs and internal teams to deliver scalable rack software.
• Develop dashboards and telemetry pipelines using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Support firmware updates, crash‑dump parsing and remote diagnostics across rack components.
• Ensure secure boot, VLAN separation and QoS enforcement for multi‑tenant environments.
• Contribute to EBOM and protocol documentation with partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior‑level software engineer in data‑centre or hardware‑adjacent software.
• Strong ownership of code from implementation through deployment and real‑world debugging.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed team and communicate across multiple sites.
• Mentorship capability for junior engineers (staff level).
