Staff Software Engineer – Modernization

About the role

The Staff Software Engineer will lead the modernization of legacy systems and design distributed data solutions for a technology and telecoms organization in Riyadh.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the modernization of legacy platforms to improve performance and scalability.
• Design and implement distributed data architectures, including Kafka‑based solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align software solutions with business needs.
• Ensure reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance of production systems.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges in system architecture.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Proven experience modernizing large legacy platforms and migrating monoliths to microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building Kafka‑based architectures and large‑scale data migrations.
• Familiarity with database migration tools such as Flyway or Liquibase.
• Background working on ERP or enterprise SaaS platforms (preferred).
• Ownership of business‑critical production systems.
