Strategic Advisor – Middle East Compliance

About the role

IBM Risk, Compliance and Integrity (RCI) is seeking a Market Strategic Advisor for the Middle East to help embed compliance into business strategy. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring IBM operates responsibly across a complex regulatory landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and mitigate key compliance risks in the Middle East, aligning actions with IBM’s business strategy.
• Monitor and interpret regional laws, regulations and internal policies to keep IBM compliant.
• Engage senior business leaders as a strategic advisor and embed compliance considerations into day‑to‑day decisions.
• Collaborate with other Market Strategic Advisors, the global RCI function and key support teams.
• Educate employees and advise stakeholders on new regulations and internal policies.
• Support investigations from allegation to resolution, including root‑cause analysis.
• Partner with the Ecosystem Audit and Compliance team to drive program improvements.
• Continuously improve IBM’s compliance programs for efficiency, effectiveness and alignment with risk appetite.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Deep familiarity with regulatory regimes affecting IBM’s operations in the Middle East.
• Prior experience in a legal or compliance role within the IT/technology sector.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior leadership while maintaining independence.
• Strong autonomy, balancing risk evaluation with business objectives.
• Experience using technology to enhance compliance program efficiency.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken Arabic.
• Commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
