Survey Engineer – Transportation & Utility Projects

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Survey Engineer to support major transportation, road and utility infrastructure projects in Jeddah. You will oversee contractor surveying activities, verify setting‑out works and ensure construction aligns with approved drawings and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify contractor survey methodologies, control points, benchmarks and setting‑out activities.
• Monitor and inspect survey works for compliance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks and reference points across project sites.
• Validate survey reports, calculations, records and as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, inspectors and multidisciplinary teams to resolve surveying and construction issues.
• Verify quantities and measurements of completed works for progress reporting and certification.
• Ensure contractor compliance with approved survey procedures, quality standards and HSE requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years on transportation, road, highway and utility infrastructure projects.
• Mandatory experience working in Saudi Arabia and for engineering consultancy firms in a construction supervision capacity.
• Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills; fluency in English (Arabic advantageous).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Total Station equipment.
• Experience using GPS/GNSS systems.
• Knowledge of digital levels.
• Ability to process survey data using specialised software.
