Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

The Accountant will record, review and maintain accurate financial transactions for a medium‑sized catering and food services company. The role ensures compliance with company policies and local regulations while providing timely financial information to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, advances and accruals.
• Prepare bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, issue invoices and follow up collections.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities and prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor operational costs, assist budgeting, forecasting and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Handle inventory accounting, stock movements and periodic stock counts.
• Review petty cash, employee advances and expense claims.
• Assist with VAT, Zakat and tax filing compliance.
• Support payroll accounting entries and employee settlements.
• Provide documentation for internal and external audits and coordinate with operations, procurement, stores, HR and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in catering, food services, hospitality or FMCG.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, Zakat and local financial regulations.
• Fluent in Arabic and English is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial reporting.
