Accountant – Waqf (Endowment) Accounts

About the role

Our client, a waqf (endowment) based in Jeddah, is seeking a full‑time Accountant to manage its accounts under the supervision of the trustees (Nazirs). The role involves day‑to‑day bookkeeping, ledger maintenance and preparation of financial reports to support the waqf’s operations and compliance obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and record all financial transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Prepare periodic financial statements and reports for the trustees.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including cash‑flow monitoring.
• Assist in budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and financial analysis.
• Support zakat, tax and regulatory compliance, coordinating with external auditors.
• Ensure adherence to local accounting standards and waqf policies.

Required profile

• Saudi national with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in non‑profit, endowment or CPA‑firm environments.
• SOCPA membership or other professional certification is an advantage.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• General ledger management.
• Bookkeeping and account reconciliation.
• Preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel).
• Knowledge of zakat, tax regulations and Saudi accounting standards.
