AI & System Engineer

About the role

HALA is seeking an AI & System Engineer to design, develop, and maintain AI‑enabled solutions that strengthen compliance operations across its fintech ecosystem. You will translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable technical implementations that support AML, KYC, fraud prevention, and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop technology solutions that automate and enhance compliance processes.
• Build AI‑powered tools for compliance monitoring, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain integrations, APIs, and internal applications supporting compliance systems.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement workflow automation and RegTech solutions.
• Create dashboards and analytics to support compliance decision‑making and reporting.
• Ensure all solutions meet cybersecurity, data‑privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Technology, Risk, and Information Security teams on system enhancements.
• Maintain and optimise compliance applications for reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Support audits and regulatory examinations with technical documentation and evidence.
• Research emerging AI and compliance technologies and recommend improvements.
• Establish AI governance controls, conduct risk assessments, and monitor model performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering technology solutions for compliance functions.
• Strong understanding of AML, KYC, fraud prevention, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of AI governance, risk assessment, and model monitoring practices.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with compliance, risk, and security teams.
