Application Engineer – Cable Management Solutions

About the role

Eaton is seeking an Application Engineer to support our cable management portfolio. You will work closely with sales, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver accurate techno‑commercial solutions and engineering documentation for cable channels, trays and ladders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender and Bill of Materials (BOM) activities for cable containment systems.
• Develop engineering drawings, submittals and technical documentation from purchase order to production release.
• Coordinate with local assembly teams to resolve technical clarifications and ensure smooth order execution.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations and quality departments to improve product design, quality and processes.
• Review specifications, select products, develop cost estimates and generate proposals.
• Participate in cost‑out projects and material localization initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 + years of experience in cable tray design, BOM preparation and technical submittals.
• Familiarity with international standards such as NEC, IEC, NEMA and BS.
• Experience working with EMEA‑based customers in sectors like data centers, oil & gas (ARAMCO, ADNOC, ONGC).

Required skills

• Interpretation of electrical layouts, single‑line diagrams and cable routing plans.
• Design of cable tray systems (ladder, perforated, wire‑mesh) and load‑capacity calculations.
• Preparation of detailed Bill of Materials and cost estimation.
• Technical submittal creation and response to client/consultant comments.
• Proficiency with MS‑Office, SAP and AutoCAD.
