Architect of Record (AOR)

About the role

The Architect of Record (AOR) will ensure that all architectural designs and project documents comply with Saudi Arabian building codes, zoning regulations, and professional standards. This position involves reviewing and approving drawings, managing permit submissions, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and authorities to deliver projects successfully.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the licensed architect responsible for design compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
• Prepare AOR reports for each design stage as required by the project contract.
• Review, stamp, and sign architectural drawings and documents submitted to authorities.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables prepared by design teams or consultants.
• Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to maintain design integrity throughout all phases.
• Oversee building permit submissions and approvals, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture.
• 5–10 years of experience in architectural review, project coordination, and code compliance.
• Proven track record handling authority submissions and permitting processes.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting procedures.
• Excellent communication skills in English for reporting and liaison with clients, consultants, and government entities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Revit.
• Experience using BIM tools for design review and documentation.
