Area Estimation Manager

About the role

The Area Estimation Manager is responsible for leading the preparation and submission of competitive tenders within the assigned area of operations. This role coordinates across multiple engineering disciplines—including mechanical, pipeline, electrical & instrumentation, and civil engineering—to ensure timely, compliant, and winning bids in line with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process all client communications (queries, extensions of time) promptly and in accordance with client requirements.
• Manage and oversee technical tender submittals, ensuring completeness as required by the instruction to bidders.
• Ensure technical and commercial submissions fully comply with tender specifications.
• Coordinate with various departments and trades for site visits, clarifications, logistics, procurement, and other requirements essential to tender success.
• Follow up with stakeholders (central support office, client, suppliers, subcontractors, project teams) to address pre‑bid and post‑bid clarifications.
• Review and control area tender documents, preparing queries to clarify client expectations when needed.
• Consolidate proposal documents with the technical team, including man‑hours, equipment/plant hours, approved subcontractors, method statements, and other required details.
• Close the pricing phase in collaboration with relevant departments before the final tender submission date.
• Prepare technical and commercial bid presentations for management review.
• Maintain accurate internal bid documentation and a comprehensive database.
• Propose discounts for competitive offers and coordinate with Area Managers to confirm them.
• Partner with the Procurement & Subcontracts team, providing Invitations to Bid (ITB) and Requests for Quotations (RFQ) to vendors.
• Evaluate vendor quotations, secure optimal pricing, and input data into pricing sheets in line with client specifications.
• Liaise with the Planning team to develop schedules of works, plant lists, and crew distribution.
• Assess and collaborate with concerned departments to optimize direct and indirect rates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in preparing and managing tenders across mechanical, pipeline, electrical & instrumentation, and civil engineering disciplines.
• Strong ability to coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including central support offices, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure full compliance with technical and commercial tender requirements.
• Capability to develop and present comprehensive bid proposals and pricing strategies.
