Area Maintenance Manager – Aromatics (Derivatives)

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) delivers integrated asset‑life‑cycle services for the petrochemical industry. The Area Maintenance Manager will lead all maintenance activities for the Aromatics (Derivatives) area, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of process units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and rotating‑equipment maintenance for Aromatics/Derivatives units.
• Oversee maintenance execution during plant shutdowns, turnarounds and major equipment overhauls.
• Coordinate with Planning & Scheduling and Reliability teams to optimise maintenance plans, conduct bad‑actor analysis and improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure timely reporting of maintenance work through the CMMS system and prepare weekly performance reports.
• Manage day‑to‑day maintenance teams and contractors while enforcing strict HSE compliance.
• Develop maintenance personnel through technical coaching and job‑specific training in partnership with HR.

Required profile

• Saudi national with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent; significant relevant experience may substitute for a diploma.
• Minimum 10 years of petrochemical maintenance experience, including at least 5 years in Aromatics/Derivatives units such as PX, Benzene, Cumene, Cyclohexane, Styrene, Phenol, Acetone or PTA.
• Proven track record managing maintenance contracts, plant turnarounds, shutdowns and reliability programmes.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Rotating equipment maintenance (compressors, pumps, turbines).
• Static equipment knowledge (fired heaters, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, piping systems).
• CMMS usage and maintenance reporting.
• Plant turnarounds and shutdown management.
• Reliability engineering and bad‑actor analysis.
• Maintenance contract administration.
